ZFS: Replacing old disk with New disk

The only hard part here is identifying the device name. I prefer to use the model name/device short hand name and not the path/name. These often come in the form ata-ST4000NE001-2MA101_WS24TQ9W. I used the hwinfo command to get the information.  Type :     #hwinfo --disk To replace the old disk with the new disk, type:   #zpool replace [pool name] [old device name] [new device name] ZFS will resilver the disk automatically. You can continue to use the filesystem. No problem.  You can check the status with:      #zpool [pool name] status I bought this new 4TB disk around August 2024 and put it online[ZFS] but did not use it in a pool. So it's kind of a replacement disk. I replaced ata-ST2000DM001-1CH164_W1E8B1ZS because it is the oldest at 8 years and I'm logging errors.

Accident Happens, Fractured Ankles

I just can't bring myself to make a post about it. I tripped going down the stairs and fractured my ankles. It happened the 8th of July.   The doctor called it a bimalleolar fracture of the right and lateral malleolus fracture of the left. Both feet were affected, the one in the picture is the right one and looked worse than the left one. It is still stiff after 40 days. I am putting my body weight on it but slowly.  Here's how it looked: I stayed for six days in the hospital. This picture is post surgery when my doctor and also the orthopedic surgeon placed steel implants to realign my bones with plates and screws. I asked my doctor about the implants and yes, they stay for life.  The stitches came off after two weeks. I took antibiotics for 10 days and pain meds were aplenty especially during the 3 to 4 days after the surgery. The pain meds are needed for the swelling too.
